Czech Model K98k Rifle

At the end of WWII, the Brno factory was producing Model 98k rifles for the German military.  The Brno works was largely untouched by the war and when the German Military surrendered, the Czechs elected to continue production of the 98k rifle because of the huge stockpiles of parts awaiting final assembly.  Receiver marked "Ceskoslovensk√° Zbrojovka, A.S., BRNO" indicating that this rifle was manufactured on a Czech receiver and not a recycled German Wartime receiver.

This all-matching rifle has the typical features of Czech post-war production and represents the end of the line for mass production of this classic rifle.

This particular rifle is a East German Contract rifle and bears the East German acceptance proof on the receiver.
